I love Kmart and sears because they have the shop your way rewards program that is awesome. You can earn points from your purchases or win them in daily instant win sweepstakes on the shop your way rewards and win it apps. They also offer surprise freecash offers which are like bonus points you can redeem on your purchase. These offers vary. Sometimes they are for a certain amount off of a minimum purchase. Sometimes they are in specific departments. On rare occasions you will get an awesome offer where there isn't a specific department you have to spend themin or a larger minimum. Tonight I got such an offer.
I logged onto the Kmart app to look at something and got the notification that I had freecash offers. I looked at them and saw one for $9 off any sears or Kmart order over $9. I was so excited. All the freecash offers I had been getting lately were for clothing. I've used some of them but I don't always want to spend my points I win playing the daily sweeps on clothing.
I knew I wanted to use the offer to score another free Christmas gift for one of my girls. While I was looking through the toy section on the Kmart app I came across a mermaid barbie for $9.74 on sale. My 3 year old has this little mermaid doll she got at the dollar store. She loves it but it keeps falling apart. I know she will be thrilled with a mermaid barbie and hopefully it won't fall apart.
I added it to my cart and applied the $9 in freecash as well as $0.74 that I had won in the daily sweeps. Set it up for in store pickup for my husband to get after work and got a barbie completely free! Shop your way rewards is one of my biggest Santa secrets. I have ordered so many Christmas gifts for my girls for free or super cheap thanks to their points. I didn't even play their daily sweeps much this year but next year I plan on playing them every day and picking up gifts all year long.

The hollar $5 deal
I signed up for hollar ages ago but forgot to ever really check it out. Unfortunately my welcome credit expired. Lucky for me they randomly gave me a $5 credit for November. I noticed the email telling me about the credit so I decided to check out the site finally and I'm glad I did!
For those of you who haven't shopped at hollar before here's how it works. They have awesome deals where you can find stuff super cheap. For your first purchase you have to buy $10 in merchandise to qualify for free shipping. After that it is $25 for free shipping. So I was looking around the site and I found a little tikes golf set I think my 3 year old Hannah would love. It was only $4! A similar set on Amazon sells for about $15. So then I needed another $6 in merchandise to get the feee shipping. I found a promo code online for the first purchase fromtheur app. Using the promo code GETAPPY you can save $2 on a purchase of $12 or more. I found a mystery box of 8 General merchandise items for $8. It's supposed to have a value of at least $20 in merchandise. That along with the $4 little tikes golf set came to $12.
I used the promo code GETAPPY to save $2 and then it took off my $5 credit making my total $5. I can't wait to get my order and see what was in my mystery box. This is my first time ordering anything from Hollar but I've heard great things about them. I looked online and found a few unboxing videos for the mystery boxes from hollar and some people were happy while others were disappointed.
I'm not sure if I will get a great box or not but I figure with the 8 items in my general merchandise mystery box and the little tikes golf set I ordered I will be receiving 9 items for only $5. Even if they are only dollar store type items I will be getting a good deal. I'm hoping for al least a couple items I can give for Christmas gifts.

Welcome to my blog. I suppose I should introduce myself first. My name is Heather and I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful little girls: Hannah and Betty. As a stay at home Mom money is always tight. For years I've been finding all sorts of avenues to save money on gifts for the girls or even get them gifts for free. I've had tons of people tell me I should share my secrets so I decided I might as well.

I've got big plans for next year's Christmas already. I will be giving myself the personal challenge of doing all our Christmas shopping on a $10 a month budget for a total of $120 throughout the year. And I will share my secrets for anyone wanting to follow along with the challenge themselves. Right now it's only about a month and a half told Christmas so I will just be sharing my final shopping moments with all of you.
